Amir Khan, the former light-welterweight champion boxer has often spoken of his desire to fight in the UAE and has once again opened up about it in an interview with The Daily Mail.
Khan is a Pakistani-British professional boxer, born and raised in Bolton, England. He is a former two time world champion by winning WBA, WBA (Super) and IBF Light Welterweight titles, but has come in for much criticism in his home country for his apparent ‘glass jaw’ and ‘jelly legs’.
Manny Pacquiao may be Khan’s perfect fight in his mind, but the Filipino legend has probably got slightly more pressing matters on his mind, with an $80 million take ready for collection after stepping into the ring with Flloyd Mayweather in May.
Nonetheless, Khan is still hopeful of meeting Pacquiao in Dubai this year. We would say it seems improbable at best, but should Pacquiaio beat Mayweather, who knows? Khan said: “I want this fight. I would love to box Manny,” going on to exclaim that “Late November or December is perfect for me.”
Meanwhile Khan tweeted about his upcoming fight with Chris Algieri at the Barclays Centre on Friday, May 29th.
