You’ve probably marveled at the fantastic array of supercars the Dubai Police like to drive around the city. In fact it can come as quite a surprise to be overtaken by a Porshe 911 police car when you’re driving casually down Sheikh Zayed Road. Well, that surprise could be set to be multiplied quite dramatically, as the Head of Police recently announced plans to introduce Dubai’s own special brand of Dubai Robocops, designed to serve the residents of the Emirate in the lead up to the Expo 2020.
If you’re a fan of the Robocop film, or if interacting with robots is your thing, you’re going to be pleased to learn that within the next two years, robots will be patrolling the malls and other public areas, interacting directly with the public.

“These will be fully intelligent robots that can interact with people, with no human intervention at all.” said Colonel Khalid Nasser AlRazooqi. At this time, we can’t confirm whether we will be seeing any of the Robocops behind the wheel of a Lamborghini or Porsche anytime soon, but this is Dubai, anything could happen…..
