Have you got loads of stuff you don’t want? I’m not talking about what you may have acquired via an unfortunate 3am “leave before the lights come on” encounter in Barasti, I mean like clothes and other stuff which you are just hoarding for no particular reason.
Get yourself down to the Dubai Flea Market armed with a couple of suitcases loaded up with some old crap, and you’ll be amazed at what you come away with. I’m talking about money. And a few bruises. But mainly I’m talking about money.
Dubai Flea Market is a one for only those with second hand merchandise. None of the Karama crew is allowed in with their ‘H’ belts, faux-leather handbags, or whatever other knock-off stuff they have at that time, it’s just purely you versus the hoards of very demanding bargain hunters.
As a shopper, I’ve got to say it wouldn’t be for me. But if you’re selling you will be mobbed the second you step into the place. This is a sellers market. When we went, we sold out of everything in about an hour, it’s basically a free for all.
They will buy anything, old electrical equipment, your worn out clothes, DVD’s, furniture, you name it, you’ll sell it. There are four different sites where the Flea Market pops up. I couldn’t really tell you which one is the best one, it would be almost impossible for me to think there’d be any difference whatsoever, but trust me, if you need some space clearing, there’s no point dumping it down the garbage chute when in a couple of hours you could sell the lot and come away from it with a couple of grand. I’ve seen it happen.

You might think that paying 270AED is a bit much to get a stand (well, table), but these venues are literally rammed the whole time, and people will honestly buy anything. It’s quite mad really.
Obviously it all grinds to a halt for the summer, but that just gives you a chance to stockpile more stuff you don’t need/want ready to go for it when it cools down again.
Get yourself down there, I promise you’ll be surprised at how well you do.
