The global ‘experience’ Sensation will return to Dubai during 2015, most probably all the way out in the taxi-shy Meydan again. Last year, the event organisers held their show at White, and made everyone wear white.

The event was deemed a success, with 20,000 party animals loving 90’s DJ Roger Sanchez in the mix, as well as a couple of other guys also pressing buttons behind a console.

Sensation chooses to sell itself as ‘an experience’ rather than just a club night, because they have acrobats, dancers, lights and fireworks in addition to the music. While some cynics may suggest that most other club nights also have this kind of thing from time to time, Sensation just sounds better doesn’t it? Like it’s sensational.

Anyway, tickets were priced last year at 395AED for normal admission, right up to 500,000AED for a VIP table (hahahahahahahahahahah…..).

Sensation Coming Back to Dubai This Year

Party Venue? Sure

Dubai has always struggled to establish itself as a credible party destination because of the clubs, promoters and organisers being a touch too infatuated with squeezing as many big spending ‘VIP’ tables in as possible. This sadly creates less atmosphere, with a whole bunch of sad acts sat around not talking or dancing, yet somehow convinced that they are very important.

But slowly and occasionally we are seeing the odd club pop up which claims to be all about the music, including Square (https://www.facebook.com/squaredxb). Despite not giving loads away right now, Square promises to give people looking for something a bit more credible than recent openings such as Toy Room, a place to enjoy.

We can also look ahead to the apparent ‘Dubai Party Island’ (based in RAK), with baited breath. Nobody is too sure how this party island will work exactly. Presumably it will work in a slightly better way than the abandoned World Islands, but time will prove everything.

Those who have been to the real party island of Ibiza, seem unconvinced that the Emirate would be able to lay on a similar style of island which would be to their taste, but maybe they could get a VIP table at Sensation first (just 500,000AED by the way!) to whet their Arab-party appetite, and really see just how much Dubai knows how to party…..
